"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

We Have Decorations!

Although I still have lots of laundry do to as a prerequisite for the aforementioned packing, I do have one thing ready to go. We have decorations! Decorations for ourselves and for our tent. I have some other tricks up my sleeve which some of you know about, but I won't say anything here, because it's a surprise for Mom, and she may be reading this before I see her tomorrow!

But in the meantime, here are the leis I bought for us to wear as well as the pink ribbon garland I got to decorate the outside of our tent. Fun!

I DID read your blog and while my sleeves may be a bit shorter than yours, don't rule out that they may contain a trick or two...

Ohmagosh! My train to DC --to the Walk, to YOU -- departs in less than two hours. I am so excited (and nervous). I am fairly bursting with anticipation (read: butterlfies!)and bursting too with pride in and love for my co-captain. You simply are the Greatest. You always make me remember what is important in life: love and kindness and plenty of giggles. I love and respect you beyond measure and I cannot wait to see you and embark on our journey.
In the meantime please remember this Truth: "Our blisters are someone else's blessing."

See you SOON!
All my love,
Mom
