"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

Do You Know Where You're Going To?

If Mom and I were to ask this question in relation to the 3-Day--which we are--the answer would be a resounding NO! We assume that at least we will end in DC, since it is, after all, the Washington, DC 3-Day. But we have no idea where the walk will begin. And we want to know. Because this will determine whether we need to make a hotel reservation somewhere the night before the walk begins, or whether we can just stay in Arlington.

And because inquiring minds want to know, my team-mate and co-captain (that would be Mom, for those of you not following along) is going to take the bull by the horns, or something, and get in touch with Susan G. Komen to figure out where the heck we're going. Stay tuned!
