"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

A Good Day From Start To Finish

Do you ever have a day that stands out especially, not necessarily for any one particular reason, but just because a number of little things add up to make it a more special day than usual? Today was one of those days for me.

This morning was lovely, with a cool breeze and a temperature in the high 50s when I set out for work a little bit after 7:00. During the day, I completed a particularly challenging and time-consuming task at work. I hadn't realized how much angst it had been causing me until it was done. The successful completion of this work seemed to set the tone for the rest of the day, and I was particularly efficient with all of my tasks today.

When the work day ended, I set out for home, and I walked all the way. So, the beautiful weather, a great day at work, and an almost 6-mile weekday walk have helped contribute to a happy Tuesday. I hope that all of you, my much-appreciated loyal readers, have enjoyed a wonderful Tuesday as well.
