"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

Cheers to the Fourth!

As I mentioned earlier, one of the benefits (side effects?) of being involved in the 3-Day is learning how to mix water and Gatorade in just the right way. If you have too much Gatorade, the drink is too sweet. And if there's too much water, well, that's not good either. My preference would be to drink all water all the time, but the danger of hyponatremia is real, so I'll keep drinking the Gatorade along with my water. No, I do not mix Gatorade and water with a shaker like this, nor do I drink the beverage from a martini glass. But on this day of celebration, I thought the funny picture was appropriate. Happy Fourth of July!!
