"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

Hot!

That's all I have to say. It is HOT today, just as it was yesterday. I think it's the hottest weekend of the summer so far. So, I finally gave myself a long overdue day off, and I didn't do any walking or even biking yesterday. Although I did spend lots of time doing yard work. I'm not sure if that counts for anything.

Today, I did 11 miles in the heat, and I am still sweating. It was very, very, very warm. I wonder if there is some complex mathematical formula like: Walking 11 miles x 98 degrees = 15 miles, or something like that? Probably not, but I have to say I'm pretty happy about making it 11 miles in this weather. And now, it's time for a nap! I hope you're all having a good weekend!

Hi Diana! Stay inside the air conditioned office or apartment when it's this hot! I walked about 1.8 miles on Sunday and it was very unpleasant. Hope the heat breaks soon!
