I have many reasons to smile every day, and I am thankful for each and every one of them. Right now, I have a happy face because we now have $350 of our $6000! I want to give a big thank you to my dear college friend, Amy, and her family. Amy and I met in a history class during the first semester of our sophomore year at William & Mary, and we have been friends ever since. We only see each other once or twice a year, but we are blessed with the kind of friendship that continues no matter how long the time between our reunions.
I also am grateful to Rita, who gave a donation today. Rita is a friend and former coworker of mine. We first met in October 1995, a few days after I moved to the DC area. In those scary days of my first "real" job, Rita made me feel so welcome and patiently answe
red all of the questions I had. Thank you, Rita, both for that and for your generosity today!
And here is another funny reason to smile. This little bear has accompanied me on every breast cancer walk, riding along with her head sticking out of my fanny pack. When I signed up for this year's walk, a little breast cancer ring came in the mail with my welcome package. The ring is too big for any of my fingers. But look! It makes a perfect bracelet for the bear. For some reason, this makes me laugh, so I thought I'd share this picture.
