"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

The Sun Has Returned!

After what has seemed like days and days of cloudy and stormy weather, including 4 inches of rain and wind gusts of 50 miles per hour from Sunday afternoon through last night and wind chills in the high 30s(!!!), the sun has returned! And it's a beautiful day for a walk. Despite piles of work on my desk, I decided that it would be good to take a break at lunchtime, and once again, I walked up to Whole Foods to get a salad. I had a hard time coming back inside!

Incidentally, through June 15, Whole Foods is once again selling its Bouquet for the Cure, as it has for the past 10 years. The bouquet costs $7.99, and for every bouquet purchased, $1.50 will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. What a great idea!
