"We hold our heads high, standing tall but not standing still. Smiling, though faced with obstacles. Independent, yet deriving strength from togetherness. We would walk forever to overcome breast cancer, though the point of our journey is to shorten the road. Our song is filled with the weight of urgency, yet lifted by the lightness of joy. In the garden of our souls, commitment is tended by optimism. Surprise us in the quiet of our thoughts and you would find us thinking about victory, even when no victory is in sight. Because we are always looking ahead, to a place of health and long life--to the time we all dream of when we may cease our walking and begin to dance."

Picture from Yesterday's Walk

As promised, here is a picture from yesterday's walk. This is one that Belle took of Sammie and me before we began walking. Sammie's walk honors her grandmother. And you can't see the tag I'm wearing, but my walk honors Mom and my good friend, Trish. It was a great event! And once again, I am so thankful the weather was good!!

We had so much fun, thanks Diana for joining us on Sunday. You and Lucy will do a great job in October if your early training is any indication! Let me and Sammie know about any other training walks you do--even if we can't do all 20 miles with you, we could maybe do a few before veering off to do baby related things :) Hugs! Belle & Sammie
